Robert Thomas, who pleaded guilty in October to second-degree murder in the death of Megan Gallagher was sentenced today (Fri) to life in jail with no possibility of parole for 18 years. He was originally charged with first degree murder in September of 2022.
Thirty-year-old Megan Gallagher of Saskatoon was reported missing in September of 2020. Her remains were found along the bank of the South Saskatchewan River near St. Louis just over two years later.
Nine people were charged from this investigation, but Robert Tyler John’s charges of unlawful confinement and aggravated assault were stayed. Three others are facing first degree murder charges: Summer-Sky Henry, Roderick William Sutherland, and Cheyann Crystal Peeteetuce. Thomas Sutherland is charged with manslaughter. John Sanderson, Jessica Badger, and Ernest Whitehead pleaded guilty to indignity to human remains.
