There are 27 wildfires burning in Saskatchewan, including six that are not contained.
The worst fires continue to burn in the La Ronge, Candle Lake, Pelican Narrows and Denare Beach regions. This is a link to the daily fire report issued by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) on Thursday.
Environment Canada is forecasting cooler temperatures and showers, but not enough precipitation to make a huge difference, according to Steve Roberts, SPSA vice-president of operations.
Roberts says fire has made communications a challenge at times.
Roberts could not say how many municipal fire departments were working on the fire lines, but he greatly appreciates their contributions.
There was a question during the media briefing about the La Ronge firebreak and whether enough was done in advance to protect the community.
One of the structures destroyed by fire was the Robertson Trading Post.
