A tip from the public had officers from the La Loche RCMP Detachment stationed along Highway 155 south of the town limits Wednesday evening. There was word that some residents were traveling from La Loche to buy booze and bring it back for resale. Several sources told police that a 24 pack of beer sold for over $200. As a result of their Check Stop, officers seized a large amount of liquor, coolers, and beer from five vehicles. Included in the haul: 534 cases of beer, 24 bottles of beer, 248 cans of coolers, one, 4 litre box of Royal Red, three, 1.75 litre bottles of hard liquor, and six, 750 ml bottles of hard alcohol. Three people are facing charges.
