Peace Plaza in Rotary Park has the name of another Nobel Peace Prize Winner etched in its bricks.
This is something the Rotary Club of Saskatoon Nutana has been doing since 2010, inviting people or organizations to sponsor bricks recognizing winners of the Nobel Peace Prize.
This year’s inductee is Dr. Martin Luther King, who was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his work in civil rights and social justice.

Rotary president, Lorne Braithwaite, sponsored the brick. He feels having Dr. King as the inductee is timely, considering the Black Lives Matter movement and King’s belief in non violence.
Along with Nobel Peace Prize winners at Peace Plaza, you will notice other people’s names on bricks.
Braithwaite says you can sponsor a brick for anyone you would like by contacting the Rotary Club of Saskatoon Nutana.
