Eight members of the Prince Albert Police Service have been recognized by the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police for their life-saving efforts in two different incidents in 2020.
A new member of the Prince Albert Police Service was noted for his work to investigate and stop dug trafficking while working in Estevan.
The SACP Team Award of Excellence in Performance recognizes the officers who were on the scene first in a homicide involving three people, including a child and the attempted murder of another child in March of 2020.
Sergeant Brian Glynn, Sergeant Tyson Morash, Constable Kim Issel, Constable Craig Reddekopp, Constable Justin Parenteau and Constable Michael Norrie were all recognized.
Constable Darcy Burns was recognized with an award for his efforts in a fall 2020 incident that saw him remove his duty equipment in exchange for a wetsuit to join firefighters as they rescued a man who had fallen into the water.
Constable Mischa Shewchuk was the officer recognized for their efforts with the Estevan Police Service.
The 2020 SACP Awards also recognized former Prince Albert Deputy Chief Jason Stonechild and former Deputy Chief Jeff Rowden with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
