The entire province of Saskatchewan is seeing snow. Environment Canada Meteorologist Shannon Moodie says, ” So we’re looking at decent snowfall amounts, you know, up to 15 centimetres but it’s going to be over a 36-hour period. So, we’ll see the snow start today (Sun) for most regions, maybe a centimetre or two today. Tonight, it’s going to be falling heavier so maybe around 5 to 10 and again this is in the Central Saskatchewan area. And Monday we’ll see the snow slowly taper off so maybe like another 5 centimetres Monday and Monday night.”
She says by Tuesday it clears out but then it gets cold. For southern Saskatchewan while this system moves through the province there will be less snow accumulation but stronger winds to blow the snow around.
As the system makes its way into Manitoba it is going to slow down and stall out and she says that is a contributing factor to the snowfall warning that is in effect in the Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain area of the province where 20 to 25 centimetres of snow could fall.
