About four months after a fatal accident, the driver has been charged by Gravelbourg RCMP. On June 18th around 4 in the morning, officers police responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 58, just south of that community. One of the passengers, a 20 year old man from the Gravelbourg area, was declared dead at the scene. The driver and second passenger were taken to hospital for further assessment.
A news release from the RCMP says after investigation with the help of a collision reconstructionist, 22-year-old Christopher Otterson of Gravelbourg is charged with one count each of impaired driving causing death and driving impaired over 80 mg causing death, and one count each of impaired driving causing bodily harm and impaired driving over 80 mg causing bodily harm. He appears in court in Assiniboia on November 9th.
