The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is investigating the city’s 11th homicide of 2023.
It occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning in the back alley of the 2700 block of 21st Street West. SPS patrol officers responded to an injured person, suffering from a gunshot wound, at that location at about 1:30 a.m. The 33-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to hospital for treatment. The SPS are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time, but next of kin has been notified. The Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections, along with the Guns and Gangs Unit are continuing to investigate with police asking that anyone with information about this incident pass it on to the SPS at 306-975-8300 or to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
