Nearly two years ago, Brennon Dulle received a life-saving brain surgery in the Royal University Hospital Neurology Ward that stopped him from having seizures. Since then, he has been working tirelessly to give back to the people that helped him get his life back.
Last year, the first ever Dulle’s Neurology Fundraiser was held, and after raising $20,000, he decided to host the event again this year. Dulle explains that his history of brain surgeries has impaired his abilities to walk and talk, and he may never be able to get a ‘normal’ job ever again.
“I’ve decided to do it every year for the rest of my life, cause I’m never going to have another job, and I have to do something with my life.”
This year’s fundraiser takes place April 6th at TCU Place. Ticketholders can expect music from Saskatchewan country artist Kieran Gardiner, raffles, a silent auction, presentations, cocktails, supper, and supporting an important cause.
Last year, Dulle gave the nurses in the ward $5,000 for new furniture in their break room. Another $5,000 went towards purchasing activities for patients to enjoy themselves with, such as games, an X-box, and a TV.
Dulle says the last $10,000 was set aside to be saved year-over-year, and when there is enough there to purchase a piece of equipment the doctors and surgeons could use, they can dig into that fund to have it paid for.
Dulle adds that tickets are available on his Facebook page at Dulle’s Neurology Fundraiser, or you can email him at brennonfundraiser@gmail.com.
