Most 81-year-olds aren’t thinking about being a part of a new business venture, but that’s exactly what well known Prince Albert business leader and philanthropist, Malcolm Jenkins is doing.
Up until about a year ago he was the owner of Prince Albert’s Canadian Tire and now he is in partnership with another Prince Albert businessman, having signed on to buy Melody Motors in Melfort.
The dealership had been owned by the Madraga family for over 60 years.
The new Dealership Principal and co-owner of Melody Motors, Mark Ripley, explains that he met Jenkins through Prince Albert’s business world and through their mutual belief in philanthropy.
Ripley and Jenkins worked on fundraising projects together to rebuild toboggan hill at the Little Red and upgrading the ski lift.
He expects they will continue with projects in Melfort, carrying on the tradition from the Madraga family.
Ripley and Jenkins took owners of the dealership on October 1st.
Other projects that Malcolm Jenkins supported in Prince Albert include the E.A. Rawlinson Centre, the Alfred Jenkins Fieldhouse and the Rose Garden Hospice.
Ripley, through his former work with Mann Northway in P.A. has donated over $5 million to project in the Prince Albert area.
