The Saskatoon Police Service says a 29-year-old Saskatoon woman is in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., Monday (today), police were called to a report of a machete stabbing at a suite in the 500 block of Avenue X South. Upon arrival officers located a woman suffering from a serious injury. Inside, the suite they located a 55-year-old woman and took her into custody.

There is no indication of charges, but the incident is being investigated by members of the Serious Assault Unit.
