Environment Canada meteorologist Danielle Desjardins says a long cold snap like the one currently being experienced on the prairies is not unprecedented. However, it is the longest, coldest period so far this winter. The daytime highs should be in the low -20’s by Wednesday and once Thursday rolls around the forecast indicates both overnight low and daytime highs in the normal for this time of year range. All of Saskatchewan remains under an extreme cold warning.
