The average gas price in Saskatoon has gone down by 0.8 cents a litre in the past week, averaging Sunday at $134.75. That’s just over 22 cents lower than April 13th of last year and 18.3 cents lower than a month ago, according to Gasbuddy.com. In Regina, gas averaged at $1.38.15 cents a litre yesterday (Sun), down 1.5 cents.
Gasbuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, Patrick De Haan expects the prices to continue trending lower, but says, “any abrupt change in the current tariff situation could eventually bring that decline to a halt”. He adds that the prices typically see their seasonal peak around early to mid-April, so we may have already experienced the worst at the pumps for this year, because the transition to the more expensive summer gas is nearly complete.
