The Saskatoon Police Service says their officers were called to a city transit bus after receiving a report of an assault that had just occurred. This was around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and the bus had pulled over in the area of Wardlow Road and Appleby Drive.
Officers located a 17-year-old female suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds and cuts who was taken to hospital by paramedics. Police determined that an altercation between two groups of teen girls had taken place prior to the stabbing. The suspects then fled from the bus.
As officers were getting ready to clear the scene, they spotted a teen matching the description of the suspect who was arrested without incident. In a news release police say she was arrested and found to be in possession of a knife and cannabis.
A 15-year-old girl has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault as well as possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.
