The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning the public of the third measles exposure risk in just as many days.
This confirmed case was in Regina. If you were at the Regina Open Door Society on Thursday or Friday between 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Walmart’s East Location on Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., BarBurrito on Gordon Road on Monday from 9:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., or Alliance Health Medical Clinic on 4th Avenue on Tuesday between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you are asked to monitor for symptoms.
Symtoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, fatigue, irritability, small, white spots inside the mouth and throat, and the red blotchy rash. If you observe any of these symptoms, call Healthline 811 for further instruction.
The two previous measles exposure risks were reported in Rosthern and Preeceville.
NDP Health Critic Vicki Mowat says in light of these outbreaks, “This is absolutely the worst time for the government to cut the healthcare budget by $17 million. They need to reverse the healthcare cuts today to help deal with this measles crisis, including by ramping up public health efforts and vaccinations.”
