Prime Minister Mark Carney has unveiled his new cabinet at a swearing-in ceremony at Rideau Hall Tuesday morning.
Some notable changes include dropping Bill Blair from cabinet and naming David McGuinty to the role of defense minister. Jonathan Wilkinson has also been removed from cabinet. He was replaced by Tim Hodgson, a business executive from Toronto who worked with Carney during his time at the Bank of Canada, who will now serve as the minister of natural resources and energy.
McGuinty was recently in charge of public safety, which is now being headed by former justice minister Gary Anandasangaree. Sean Fraser is the new justice minister and Attorney General of Canada.
Chrystia Freeland is keeping her role in transport and will also oversee internal trade.
Heath MacDonald is the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and Marjorie Michel will be Minister of Health. Steven MacKinnon is the leader of government in house of commons.
The finance minister remains as Francios Phillipe Champagne. Dominic LeBlanc is the minister of Canada-US trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, and One Canadian Economy.
Melanie Joly has been moved to the Industry portfolio, and Anita Anand is minister of Foreign Affairs.
Patty Hajdu is in charge of Jobs and Families, while Steven Guilbeault takes on Official Languages.
