The City of Prince Albert has launched their annual Anti-Graffiti Program which the City describes as “New and Improved”.
Homeowners, business owners and private owned facilities can apply to the City of Prince Albert under the Anti-Graffiti Program, to receive assistance with graffiti removal located on exterior surfaces of their private property.
The revamped program aims to streamline the application process with their online format. Once submitted, the approval process is the same day. Also new to the program, is a second removal option.
Tim Yeaman is the Parks and Open Spaces Manager for the City of Prince Albert and says, “In previous years, property owners were provided the supplies and removed graffiti themselves. Now, the applicant can select to have the city pay a contractor for one hour to come to the property and remove it for them. Using a pressure washer and a special chemical that lifts the graffiti from the surface, this is an alternative that encourages community involvement.”
The City of Prince Albert says the best way to stop graffiti vandalism is to REPORT IT, RECORD IT and/or REMOVE IT. The City of Saskatoon echoes its northern neighbour when it comes to graffiti and also says if graffiti is on your property remove it as quickly as possible because the faster and more frequently graffiti is cleaned up, the less it reappears.
