The group Unified Grassroots say the Legions in the province have made a decision that will not allow their venues to be available for Unified Grassroots Town Hall meetings.
Unified Grassroots leader Nadine Ness confirmed the cancellations, in a video and news release on social media as well as a letter to supporters, for town halls planned for legions in Prince Albert, Weyburn, Estevan, Humboldt, Meadow Lake and Nipawin.
In her video Ness said, “So, the first one cancelled and she says it’s not even a choice I can make; I don’t really have a say on this. It came from Dominion. That’s what we heard. So, I thought maybe it’s just one, maybe it’s just one person, with again being misinformed.”
Ness places much of the blame on what she terms “NDP lies” and “misinformation”. In a news release Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, said, “We have a critical moment of consensus here right now, where we can get major projects built – more rail lines, more pipelines and more power lines – and that’s what we should be focused on.”
Our newsroom reached out to the Royal Canadian Legion to confirm its decision to cancel but as yet there has been no response.
