Carrot River RCMP responded to an injured person report on Friday around 10 a.m. on Highway #55.

A man was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries. Police investigation determined the man was in a vehicle near the turn off to Red Earth Cree Nation when it left the roadway and entered a creek. He was able to escape and get help from a passerby.

With assistance from the Carrot River Fire Department a second man was removed from the vehicle and also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
