A social media account that is offering a $4.00 Go-Pass that provides six months of unlimited travel on Saskatoon is a scam.
In a news release, Saskatoon Transit is warning residents that this, too good to be true deal of a Go-Pass Smart Card on social media and accompanying website is fraudulent. In addition, a linked website falsely impersonates as an official Saskatoon Transit page. The deceptive tactic seeks to mislead individuals into buying a fake pass and sharing their personal information. Saskatoon Transit and the City of Saskatoon remind residents that they request or collect credit card, bank accounts or any sort of personal information from customers via phone, text, social media or email. Residents should contact their bank if they have become a victim of fraud and report these types of phone or online scams to the Saskatoon Police Service or speak with a Customer Service Representative with the City of Saskatoon.
