Access to beach and water at Emma Lake’s Sunnyside Beach has been closed by order of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. That’s according to the latest Health Beaches Report issued Friday due to the amount of E.coli detected in the water.

The presence of E.coli in the water indicates there is fecal contamination which can come from sewage overflows, storm water run-off and animal waste.

Common symptoms of E. coli exposure include stomach upset, skin rashes, sore throat, perhaps eye or ear infection.
