The CEO of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce says you can feel the surge of people taking advantage of what Saskatoon has to offer thanks to Ag in Motion.
Jason Aebig says you can see it and feel it with people occupying hotel rooms and taking advantage of restaurants and special attractions
“That level of economic activity hits the bottom line of Saskatoon small and mid-sized businesses and those are the ones that we rely on to create the jobs here in our city.”
He says in 2022 USask conducted an analysis in terms of Ag in Motion’s GDP contribution and pegged it at $1.2 billion.
“The amount of spin off and economic impact that that show has not only for the industry and for the province in terms of trade and agriculture but even for us locally here in Saskatoon, it’s massive. So anytime that we can be adjacent to or directly participate in these kinds of big shows and events, it translates into real dollars for other sectors.”
Aebig says Ag in Motion shows the synergy between cities and towns as well as rural and remote communities.
“The economic ripple effect of one always impacts in a positive way another.”
