There was an apartment fire in the 100 block of 25th Street West Thursday night.
The Saskatoon Fire Department says the call came in at 8:04 p.m. and when firefighters arrived at the apartment building, they could see smoke and flame from an apartment suite window. The apartment building is across 25th Street from the Holiday Inn Express on Idylwyld.
The fire was extinguished, and large fans were set up to remove smoke and toxins from the building. Everyone safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
At the time of the news release being issued there is no mention of how long it took to put out the fire, what possible considerations were made for the firefighters fighting the fire in extreme cold nor whether the residents of the building were able to find refuge from the cold after being evacuated.
A fire investigator will identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
